What we offer
-
Individual therapy at Ordinary Therapy is an ongoing therapeutic relationship. We typically meet weekly or bi-weekly, giving us time to slow down, notice patterns, make sense of what feels stuck, and work toward meaningful change over time.
In some ways, it can feel like talking to a trusted friend, but with one important difference: you are at the center the entire time. Therapy offers dedicated space for your thoughts, relationships, fears, contradictions, and hopes, with someone trained to listen deeply, ask better questions, and help you understand yourself more fully.

Perinatal therapy is support for people who are pregnant, postpartum, or adjusting to life with a new baby. Bringing a child into your family is a profound change, and not always in the ways people expect. Alongside joy and love, there can also be fear, grief, frustration, rage, loneliness, and the feeling that no one prepared you for how hard this can be.
At Ordinary Therapy, we work with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), birth trauma, baby blues, identity shifts, relationship strain, fertility grief, NICU experiences, and the complex transition into parenthood itself. We have experience supporting LGBTQIA+ families, NICU families, and parents navigating both expected and unexpected paths into family life.
These relationships can be short-term- sometimes 6 to 8 weeks of focused support during an intense season. They can also grow into longer-term therapy as your family and sense of self continue to evolve. The goal is helping you feel more grounded, supported, and able to live inside this new chapter with honesty and care.

We believe group therapy can be a powerful reminder that you are not the only one feeling this way. While we do not have any groups running at the moment, we’re always interested in hearing from people looking for that kind of support.
Past offerings have included our Postpartum Support Group for parents with babies from birth to 4 months, our New Parent Support Group for families in the first year of parenthood, Tasks of Grieving - a grief and loss group, and Tarot for Self Care. If group therapy is something you’re interested in, we’d love to hear from you.

Clinical supervision is available for both new and experienced clinicians looking for a thoughtful, collaborative space to reflect on their work. My approach is relational and postmodern, with psychodynamic and CBT influences, and a strong belief that good clinical work grows from clarity, curiosity, and a deep understanding of both the client and the therapist in the room.
I’m especially skilled at helping clinicians find the right boundaries for their own practice, define their scope of work, and develop an approach that feels both ethically sound and genuinely their own. Supervision can be a place for case consultation, professional development, questions of identity and voice as a therapist, and the practical realities of building sustainable clinical work.
Fully licensed clinicians are welcome for per-session consultation and supervision, and provisional licensed clinicians and LMSWs are encouraged to reach out to discuss ongoing supervision and other ways we might work together.

I offer teaching, speaking, and consultation for clinicians, helpers, organizations, and curious seekers looking for thoughtful, practical, and engaging ways to deepen their work. This can include course development, single workshops, multi-session trainings, speaking engagements, and consultation—offered both in person and online.
My specialty areas include the perinatal period, anxiety, trauma, boundaries, and the therapeutic use of self. I’m especially interested in helping people think more clearly about relational work, professional identity, and the places where personal meaning and clinical practice overlap.
Previous workshops and trainings have included Trauma Skills for Healers and Helpers, Group Process Skills, Therapeutic Relationship Building and Professional Boundaries, Tarot for Self Care, and Transitioning to Parenthood. If you’re looking for a speaker, trainer, or consultant, I’d love to talk about what might be most useful for your team or community.
Payment, Fees, and Insurance
Our full fee for a 50 minute individual session is $225. A limited number of sliding scale spots may be available—please feel free to inquire.
Group fees vary depending on the group, the range is $45-$100 per session. These fees may also be reimbursable by your insurance.
We primarily accept payment via Credit Card, though electronic cash payments (venmo or zelle) are accepted if needed.
FSA/HSA cards are accepted.
We are an out-of-network provider, and as a courtesy, we can submit out-of-network claims on your behalf. Reimbursement depends on your specific insurance benefits and deductible, so we recommend contacting your provider directly for more information. See questions below.
If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, it can be helpful to call your insurance company and ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
What is my reimbursement rate for outpatient psychotherapy (CPT code 90834)?
Is reimbursement based on a percentage of the “allowed amount,” and if so, what is that amount?
How many sessions per year are covered?
Do I need pre-authorization for outpatient therapy?
Do I need a referral from a primary care physician?
Are there any limits on how often I can be seen (e.g., weekly sessions)?
How do I submit claims for reimbursement (and how long does it typically take)?
Where should claims be sent?
You can also ask for clarification on anything that feels unclear—insurance language can be confusing, and it’s okay to have them walk you through it.
